Are You Sure?
What are you trusting in to get you to Heaven when you die?
It is not wise to trust any person, teaching,or religious entity that does not line-up with the Truth of God’s Word, the only True Standard. No denomination or religious system ever saved anybody from Hell.
Belief in God is not enough!
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” – James 2:19
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I neverknew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” – Matthew 7:21-23
Being baptized is not enough, nor is it evennecessary for salvation!
Nowhere does the Bible teach that baptism makes a person right with God. In fact, the Apostle Paul said, “Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel.” – 1 Corinthians 1:17
“But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.“ – Luke 23:40-43 and Acts 10:44-48)
Going to church does not make you saved any more than living in your garage will make you become a car!
The church is not a place, but it is God’s people- the Body of Christ. “[The Father] …gave Him [the Son] to be the Head over all things to the church, which is His body.” –Ephesians 1:22-23 See also 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 and Colossians 1:18
Receiving the Sacraments, even the Eucharist, does not contribute to your salvation.
The Bible does not speak of a series of rituals necessary for salvation, nor does it tell anywhere of any type of “sacrament” or “rite” that has any kind of spiritual effect upon us. The biblical purpose of taking bread and grape juice is simply as a memorial to remind us of Jesus’s bodily sacrifice. The Bible says…
“And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” – Luke 22:19-20
“For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew [proclaim] the Lord’s death till he come.” – 1 Corinthians 11:26
Doing good works isn’t enough!
How many good works do you have to do to earn eternal life? The Bible teaches that even the very best we can do is still tainted with sin and is unworthy of God!
Trusting in a church denomination, a ceremony, a ritual, a religious tradition, praying, or even your good works will not save you.
It takes a genuine heart change through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ alone. The Bible is God’s complete, exclusive, and only authoritative word. It Teaches us that very clearly.
All Have Sinned and are Born into Condemnation
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” – Romans 3:23
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” – Romans 3:10
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:“ – Romans 5:12
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” –James 2:10
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” – John 3:17-19
Sin Separates You from God
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” – Isaiah 59:2
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” – Psalm 66:18
Salvation comes only by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ alone; Not by any Religious Work, Rite, Ceremony, or Sacrament; nor is there any other person to whom we can pray
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” – 1 Timothy 2:5
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”– Romans 5:1
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.“ – Ephesians 2:8-9
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” –Colossians 1:14
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” – Titus 3:5
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” – Act 4:12
Each Person Must Individually Establish a Personal relationship with Jesus Christ by being Spiritually Born Again through repentance, heart belief, verbal confession directly to God, andreceipt of His gift of Salvation
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except (unless) a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.“ – John 3:3
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14
“Not every one that saith unto me (or “calls me”), Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day (Judgment Day), Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” – Matthew 7:21-23
“The Lord is … not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”– 2 Peter 3:9
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:“ – John 1:12
Whoever Believes God’s Word, Changes His mind (“Repents”) and turns from sin, self, and false teachings, and turns by choice towards God and His Truth will be saved. Whoever doesn’t will be eternally lost
“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” – Luke 5:32
“I tell you, Nay: but, except (unless) ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” – Luke 13:3
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans 10:13
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;“ – Acts 3:19
It boils down to this simple point of understanding:
Are you trusting in a religion or a religious system to save you? That is impossible.
Are you trusting in a denomination, a baptism, or a sacrament to save you? Those things will not save you either.
Can you remember a time in your life when you realized you were a sinner, separated from God because of the sin in your heart? (Isaiah 59:2) Did you change your mind and turn from the sin to the Truth of God’s Word and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and then confess that repentance and belief to God? (Romans 10:9-10) The Bible says that there is no mediator between God and man other than the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 2:5)
The Bible assures us that if one is a genuine born-again child of God’s, His Holy Spirit will bear witness with that person’s spirit and that person will KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT that he is saved. (Romans 8:16)
Tthe Bible also says that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature! (2 Corinthians 5:17) What changes has Jesus made in your heart, life, and lifestyle?
